About us
Who we are
We are a dedicated family restoring hope to Uganda’s most vulnerable children through care, education, and sustainability.
L’ESPERANCE Uganda was established to provide a sanctuary for children who lost their parents to the devastating HIV/AIDS crisis. Located in the peaceful setting of Kinyo, Bubwa, our project has grown from a simple rescue mission into a thriving, self-sustaining community.
We do not just run an institution; we build families. At the Kinyo Children’s Village, children live in foster homes with loving mothers. Over the years, we have expanded to include the Hope Primary School, a Comprehensive Secondary School, a medical center, and extensive agricultural lands. We are a team committed to turning despair into a future full of potential.
Our approach
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide holistic care that empowers children to become self-reliant, responsible citizens.
We believe in “Help for Self-Help.” Our mission goes beyond simply providing food and shelter. We aim to equip every child with the tools they need to survive and thrive independently. By combining family-based care with high-quality academic education and practical agricultural training, we ensure that our children are not just recipients of aid, but are learning to build their own futures. We nurture them physically, mentally, and spiritually until they are ready to stand on their own feet.
Our Vision
We envision a Uganda where the cycle of poverty is broken, and every child has the opportunity to flourish.
We want to see a world where no child is defined by their tragic past. Our vision is to raise a generation of healthy, educated, and morally grounded leaders who will contribute positively to their society. Through our sustainable farming and community projects, we envision the Kinyo Village serving as a model of development and hope for the entire Masaka and Rakai region, proving that with love and opportunity, any child can succeed.
